Vintage Omega Geneve 166.0123 1481 TV Jumbo Gold Plated Rare 45mm 70s Swiss Made

For sale is a rare 1970s Omega Genève “TV Jumbo / Widescreen” automatic, reference 166.0123, powered by the 23-jewel Cal. 1481 with quick-set date. This is the iconic oversized TV-screen model measuring approximately 45 mm wide × 38 mm tall — huge for the era and still bold by today’s standards. Currently there are no other examples listed on eBay worldwide.

The watch is in great overall condition with minimal wear. The gold capping remains attractive on the front and sides, and the champagne sunburst dial is original, never retouched, and free of water damage or discoloration. It is mounted on a very high-quality stingray leather strap; the gold-filled buckle looks correct for Omega (possibly original to this watch or another period model — please check photos for yourself).

The movement runs and all functions work properly including quick-set date, but it feels and sounds slightly dry — probably just needs a service/oil. I have not opened the case because of the integrated construction and do not want to risk damage. The caseback shows some minor corrosion typical of gold-capped Omegas of this age, but from the front the watch still looks stunning and very luxurious in sunlight.

A scarce, conversation-starting vintage Omega perfect for collectors hunting a true 1970s statement piece or anyone wanting a big, bold gold luxury watch on the wrist. Ready to wear right out of the box!
